Transforming lives. Restoring hope. Dayton, OH

“He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the beggar from the ash heap, to set them among princes and make them inherit the throne of glory.”
- 1 Samuel 2:8

OUR STORY.

Over 30 years ago, Pastor Pat Murray began to dream of a place where people could be totally rehabilitated; a place where hope could be rebuilt into their lives until they began to dream again. God planted this seed in him to grow what he called a “fresh start center,” where he could see the promise of 1 Samuel 2:8 fully represented.

Several years later, he discovered what Tommy Barnett was starting in Los Angeles, California: the Dream Center. Pastor Pat’s passion to see lives transformed and hope restored to his city was fueled even further. The LA Dream Center was his first glimpse of seeing his vision become reality.

Fast-forward to 2017, Pastor Pat’s prayers for direction were answered when he was made aware of a property in east Dayton, in the heart of a neighborhood devastated by the heroin epidemic of 2017. What an ideal strategic location from which to impact people’s lives!

In 2019, he took ownership of this unique property that was comprised of an abandoned 1906 church building connected to a 1954 school annex.

Now partnering with dozens of local churches, organizations and individuals, The Dayton Dream Center is able to consistently meet needs and provide hope to our community. As we look ahead to the future, we invite you to dream with us and be a part of bringing hope to Dayton, Ohio!
